Systems of maintenance of passive safety
Posted Jul 12th, 2007 5:11AMPassive safety is the system of actions directed on maintenance of safety of the person at road and transport incident. It is sectioned on external and internal.
The external. An exception on a surface of a body of the acute angles, acting handles etc.
The internal:
• a body arrangement. Regulates loadings on a body of the person from sharp slowdown at road accident and preservation of space of passenger interior after body deformation;
• seat belts. The excellent idea to adhere the person to a seat to rescue to it a life at failure, was born in 1907. Belts in the majority of cars three-dot, inertial, in some sports cars are used also four-dot, and even five-dot that it is better to keep the driver in an armchair. Without use of seat belts the deadly outcome at failure is possible already at speed in 20 km/h. Otherwise the figure raises to 95 km/h.
• inflatable pillows of safety. The first pillows revealed under the influence of gauges of blow and jumped out towards with a speed of 300 km/h. Now safety pillows meet even in the cheapest cars and reveal with different speed, depending on force of crash. Take places not only before the driver, but also before the front passenger, and also from sides. Stamp Volvo has achieved the greatest successes in protection against angle collisions. Their working out SIPS (a safety system from angle collisions) thanks to strong structure of doors and surfaces distributes force of sudden blow on all body of the car (it seriously blanks out blow). Some models of cars are equipped by compulsory disconnect of pillows because people with sick heart and children can not sustain false operation;
• seats with active headrests;
• a front bumper. Absorbs a part of kinetic energy at crash;
• safety details of an internal interior of passenger interior.
